What the job is:

CPI is looking for someone who has an established human resources background and/or experience in training and development of employees who is positive, outgoing, upbeat and a natural leader.  The ideal candidate will be quick to connect with others and able to establish and maintain working relationships while building a positive rapport with employees, customers and vendors alike.  The Talent & Development Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing the CPI University, training and development plans, company-wide training programs for individuals at varying levels within their careers and identifying and assessing current and future training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultations with managers.  This person will prepare instructional materials, job aids, handouts and visual aids to ensure a participatory, interactive learning environment while maintaining a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices.  The Talent & Development Coordinator will utilize a variety of training methods, techniques, concepts, learning tools and practices to ensure maximum learning effectiveness.  This person will oversee the New Hire Orientation process, Student Internship program, Mentoring program, Manager Trainee program and performance review process.  Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations is essential.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Education or relevant field or three years in training and development roles.  Human Resources experience is preferred. 
  • Experience in designing and executing successful training programs and familiarity with traditional and modern training programs is a plus. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Working knowledge of business computer skills (Microsoft Office, HRIS software, accounting, database entry and internet software’s).
  • Effective and positive presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and creative skills along with the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis is a must. 
  • A high level of integrity ethics, morals and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and a results-oriented demeanor is a must. 
  • Excellent business acumen abilities along with time management skills, effective planning, organization and decision-making abilities is a must.
  • Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer is essential in this role.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English. 
  • The ability to lift up to 15 pounds at a time is required.
